Small batch

I am only making 12 of these.

Serves one

This dish comes with 12oz of pork broth, pork, rice noodles, one hard-boiled egg, bean sprouts, water spinach, wontons, seasoning sauce, and pickled chilis. This is a lot of broth, personally, I prefer the soup with only 6oz of broth, so it's your choice if you want to use it all or not.

How to put the dish together

This dish requires you to reheat the broth and cook the noodles/vegetables. I will send you a video with directions.

Necessary equipment

  • knife to cut the egg
  • 2 small soup pots
  • 1 soup bowl for serving

About the dish

Tom yam in noodle soup context refers to how the soup gets seasoned lightly with a bit of lime juice, fish sauce, peanuts, and sugar. Think of it as simply an add on flavor to a basic Thai pork noodle soup.

Although it has tom yam in its title, please do not confuse it with the delicious and popular lemongrass and makrut lime leaf soup which is completely different. That soup doesn't contain noodles and is quite a different flavor profile.

Allergies
